BobaBobaBoba

Overview
Boba has become a cultural phenomenon among young adults, but most people continue to buy it rather than make it at home. This website was designed to provide recipes, history, and a social feature where users can share their creations and help encourage a more sustainable and community-driven boba culture.
Design Goals
Create a central hub for boba recipes, history, and user-generated content.
Ensure easy navigation with consistent layouts and visual cues.
Appeal to a younger, playful audience with fun visuals, rounded shapes, and bright design elements.
Build a community-driven feature to motivate recipe sharing.

Process
Research: Identified that most recipe websites lack community or social features.
User Needs: Quick access to recipes, ability to share creations, playful visuals that resonate with boba culture.
Design Exploration: Iterated in Figma on layout, flow, and navigation, ensuring accessibility with large text and buttons.
Prototype: Created 5 key pages connected through a clickable flow with interactions such as hamburger menus, overlays, and tabs.
Outcome & Reflection
Consistency: Same heading, call-to-action placement, and color palette across all pages.
Visual Language: Rounded shapes in text boxes, buttons, and icons to mimic tapioca pearls.
Media Use: Realistic images for recipes paired with stylized graphics for playfulness.
Hierarchy & Usability: Chunked text, clear call-to-actions, and large clickable buttons for navigation.

The final prototype successfully balanced usability and playfulness, creating a space where young boba enthusiasts can both learn and share. If expanded, the next step would be to integrate community engagement features like likes, comments, or recipe collections.
